2014 Kindergarten Testing and Phase-In Information

Can you believe it is almost time for your little one to begin Kindergarten?  We look forward to working with your student and your families whether this is your first child to enter our school, your only, or your last one.  Truly we hope this will be a wonderful experience.

Below please find some important dates and times to assist you with your plans for the Phase-In Week.  More information will be available on the Registration Evenings (You will only need to attend one of them).

Registration Evenings

Parents will need to attend one of the registrations nights, July 29th or July 31st, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. to sign up for a testing appointment and to complete some paperwork.

Testing Information

Testing will be conducted on Monday, August 4th, and Tuesday, August 5th.

Testing will take approximately 30 minutes, and parents will be able to wait at school during testing. Students will NOT be staying at school the whole day on either Monday or Tuesday, and as we are trying to test all students in two days, please make every effort to arrive on time.

Teacher Assignments

Parents will receive a call from their child’s teacher on Tuesday afternoon, August 5th, letting them know who their teacher will be.

Phase-In Schedule

On Wednesday, August 6th, students with last names A-L will come for a full day.

On Friday, August 8th, students with last names M-Z will come for a full day.

There is no school on Thursday, August 7th, as it is Election Day.

Monday, August 11th will be the first full day for ALL Kindergarten students to come on the same day.  The PTO MAY plan a “Boo Hoo” Breakfast for Monday, August 11th, but they will be getting that information to you.

Additional Information

Office Staff will return July 23rd should you have questions beyond this information.  If you cannot attend one of the evening Registration times, please contact the school on July 29th to sign up for a testing time.  The school number is 615-824-6810.

Thank you in advance for helping us make this as fun and smooth as possible for the students.

Kind regards,

Ondie Mithcell, Principal
