Help with Warrior Walk

As you know, this year our Fall Fundraiser will be the Warrior Walk. 100% of the funds raised will go to the school. Since this is our first annual event, we want this to be great fundraiser for ILE. As always, in order to make this event successful we will need your help. If you would like to volunteer for any of the following jobs, please contact the committee leader directly. The committees are as follows:

In School Promotions: In school promotions needs the following… volunteers to help make signs so parents are reminded of Warrior Walk, volunteers to help make posters promoting the kids to get sponsors for the walk & volunteers to make posters reminding children to collect their money after the walk. We also need someone to dress up like the Maggie Moo cow for approximately 1 hour. If you would like to volunteer for any of these roles, please contact Andi Smith at andismith@bellsouth.net.

Track Committee: The track committee needs volunteers to help set up the track & track decorations on Monday, Sept. 13th, the afternoon before the walk. (It would help a great deal if any of the fathers would like to volunteer to help set up the track.) We also need 2 -3 enthusiastic volunteers to help Greg Hines (MC) assist with the announcements during the walk.  If you would like to volunteer for this role, please contact Kim Luckey at kimluckey1@gmail.com.

Refreshment Committee: The refreshment committee needs volunteers to help serve water for 2 water breaks during the walk.  We also need volunteers to help serve popsicles after the walk. These roles can be done in 1 hour shifts if you would like to volunteer when your child is walking.  If you are interested in volunteering for this role, please contact Rhonda Spurlock at rspurlock@digitalconnections.com.

As always, thank you for your support!!!

Warrior Walk Update

Amendments to earlier Warrior Run post:

Indian Lake Parents,

We are changing how many sponsors we will include for the Warrior Walk Fund Raiser.  We are now looking at no more than 20 sponsors!  Due to several requests, we are also going to include more than 1 professional.  So if we get several dentist, for instance, then we will include them all!  We still have several spots left, so don’t be shy!

Please e-mail Danielle Carpenter at djcarpen1@gmail.com with your name, business name and phone number if you are interested in being one of our sponsors.  If you have already talked to one of us and are still interested please send your info again.  We would like to thank you all in advance for your support.  It is going to be a great event!

Thank you,
Danielle Carpenter  364-7010

Warrior Walk

Can you believe that school has started?  We are now getting ready for our fall fund raiser and are very excited to announce that this year is going to be the First Annual Warrior Walk.  Our children will get in shape and raise money for their school.  In the Warrior Walk each child will get donations/pledges for each lap they walk or run.

When they participate they will get a t-shirt to wear on the day of the event.

On the back of the t-shirt under the title “Investing In Our Child’s Education”, we will have about 10-15 sponsors.  We thought we would start by opening up the sponsor list to our Indian Lake parents.  We will have 1 for each profession, 1 dentist, 1pediatrician, 1 hair salon, etc.  We will try not to duplicate, so first come first serve.  The cost will be around $200-$250 per sponsor.   The more sponsors we get the less expensive.  We will know a definite price soon.  If we do not get enough Indian Lake parent sponsors then we will open it up to the public.  The deadline is Wednesday, August 11.

If you are interested or have any question please respond to:

Registration Day

Dear ILE Parents,

It is hard to believe but the first day of school is right around the corner!  We, as the PTO board, are very excited about the new school year.  We have some new additions to the school and a new fall fundraiser that we are very excited about.

I hope you all have had a chance this summer to watch the transformation of our playgrounds.  We have several new pieces of equipment and a face lift for our older equipment.   The basketball goals have been set up in the gym and we have new basketball hoops for our k-2nd grade playground.  The smart boards are set up and will be a great addition in our library, music, art, and first grade classrooms.  Our fourth grade teachers are very excited to use their elmos to enhance the learning process.   We (ILE Parents) have made our school even better than it was last year- thank you for all your dedication to make this possible.  I personally want to thank Beth Wettengel for her diligence in making sure these projects got completed over the summer.  She truly has a heart for ILE and its excellence.

We are very excited to be doing the Warrior Run this fall for our fundraiser.   I believe it will be a positive experience for everyone involved.  The kids are going to learn about fitness and working towards goals.  All the money raised from this event will stay in our school to benefit our kids.  Also I believe it will be a way to increase school spirit and cohesiveness in ILE.  Thank you to all of you who have already been working on it this summer and to everyone that will help during the run.

At registration we will have a table at the front door to give you a check list of all you need to see and do on registration day.  We will be doing the spirit items a little different this year.  We will be collecting checks to pre-order the shirt, hoodies, etc. the day of registration.  We will not be taking cash or credit card for spirit items on that day.  We will submit the order the month of the fall fundraiser due to regulations we must follow to keep our non-tax status.  So the day of registration you can pre-order your spirit item or you can take your order form home with you and return it by August, 30th.

Please do not forget your checkbooks so you will be able to pay for your PTO dues, school supplies, and pre-order your spirit items.  We can’t wait to see you on Wednesday August 4th from 9:00-12:00!!

Sincerely,

Annie Koch
